Josh Silver DC, DACNB
Meet Dr. Josh Silver, a passionate and experienced chiropractic physician and functional neurologist with a lifelong passion for health and the human body. Born and raised in southern California, Dr. Silver was introduced to massage and manipulation by his mother, a dedicated and unequivocally passionate physical therapist. Her influence inspired him to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Sonoma State University and become certified in massage therapy from the National Holistic Institute.
Dr. Silver's love for chiropractic care deepened during his studies at Life Chiropractic College West, where he excelled academically and was a prominent leader on campus. His commitment to his craft is reflected in his achievements, including earning the credentials DACNB (Diplomate on the American Chiropractic Neurology Board) after completing a 300 hour training in Functional Neurology through the Carrick Institute of Graduate Studies as a student.
With a passion for upper cervical work, Dr. Silver spent five years at the Pierce Clinic of Chiropractic in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he trained under Dr. Pierce Sr, the founder of the Advanced Orthogonal Technique. During his time there, Dr. Silver also became a board member of the Advanced Orthogonal Institute and played an instrumental role as a technique instructor. During his time there, he invented multiple devices for the correction, including a laser positioning system and more comfortable headpiece.
To further his expertise in neurological conditions, Dr. Silver completed a three-year residency at Imagine X Functional Neurology in Santa Barbara, CA. Working alongside Dr. Adam Harcourt, he gained extensive experience treating patients with migraine, concussion, dizziness, neuropathy, and pain. Here, Dr. Silver studied how the nervous system breaks down with many conditions and how to rehabilitate it with proper stimulation and neuroplasticity. While in Santa Barbara, Dr. Silver invented multiple neurological rehabilitation techniques for the head and neck which he continues to teach to chiropractors. He also invented CBCT analysis procedures and software for the upper neck. His techniques and software are being used all over the world now.
Dr. Silver decided to move back to St. Petersburg, FL in 2022 where he worked at an integrative clinic for a short period of time. While there, he developed Upper Cervical Neurology, a new system of diagnosis and treatment for chiropractors. He continues to teach, develop, and research the work given this new understanding of the nervous system. In 2024, he launched Neuroplasticity St. Petersburg as a center to treat patients, improve the local healthcare system, and serve as a headquarters and teaching institute for his advanced chiropractic techniques and inventions. He is extremely passionate about finding natural solutions to complex health conditions and is so thrilled to be sharing his gift with St. Petersburg, FL.
Leo Gallego, D.Ac.(c), Dipl. O.M., L.Ac.
Dr. Leo Gallego is a Nationally Board Certified Diplomate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and Licensed Acupuncturist in the state of Florida. He has made it his personal mission to give hope back to those suffering and to educate those who wish to dive deeper into their health journey.
After completing his undergraduate education in Public Health with a focus in Nutrition and Global Health, Dr. Leo worked as a medical case manager in the HIV/AIDS sector for three years. He then worked in the Continuing Medical Education department at St. Petersburg General Hospital, while simultaneously fulfilling one of his passions as a Registered Yoga Teacher, formally trained under St. Pete’s very own Jade Skinner.
After completing his graduate degree in Sarasota, Dr. Leo endured a rigorous two-year apprenticeship program with Dr. Christina Captain at the Sarasota Center for Acupuncture and Nutrition, where he gained valuable hands-on experience on multiple modalities such as Functional Medicine, Targeted Nutritional Therapy and Acupuncture Injection Therapy. Dr. Leo went on to complete his Doctorate of Acupuncture degree from Won Institute of Graduate Studies and now focuses on chronic pain, sports medicine, digestive conditions, weight management and mood disorders such as anxiety and depression.
Born and raised in Cali, Colombia, Dr. Leo is also passionate about sharing his services with the Spanish speaking community and is always looking to perfect his arepas and empanadas recipes. So please do not be shy!
Ultimately, Dr. Leo believes that the key to optimal health is education and community, which is reflected upon his patients as he encourages them to take their power back and redefine their sense of hope and health.
